Emergency Services
Tragedy and misfortune can strike at any time. At those critical moments of need, the Salvation Army provides food, clothing, and furniture. Your donations of usable goods and funding allow us to meet these needs.

Food Pantry
Hundreds of families get assistance from our food pantry each year. When life's circumstances make it necessary for someone to ask for help, we stand ready to make sure they will not go hungry. Volunteers can help stock shelves, pack food boxes, and sort during food drives. There is always a need for help in the food pantry.

Hot Meals
Breakfast and supper are served Monday thru Friday at the Salvation Army Grimminger Center to about 200 people daily. The working poor, people struggling to make ends meet, and the homeless all utilize the program to get a hot meal. It is only through the volunteer efforts of caring people that the meal is cooked, served and cleaned up after.

Family Store
The store is a source of income to help fund our social service programs, including the Men's Shelter, hot meals program and food pantry. We always need help with sorting and hanging donated clothing, and stocking shelves. Donations of good, quality, saleable items are key to funding our programs and make our Family Store a great a great place to shop!

Men's Shelter
Our shelter provides a haven for men who have no place to turn except to the streets. We often take for granted the feeling of being warm, fed and cared for. To someone who needs it the most, it can make all the difference in the world.

SKILL (Smart Kids In Life Learning)
Ran by a certified teacher, this tutoring program is designed to aid students with their homework. The program is available Monday thru Thursday from 4pm-6pm in the computer lab located at the Salvation Army Grimminger Center. No registration is required. Families may stay for supper.

Adventure Corps (Boys, Grades 1-8)
This is a Christian Education program designed for boys in grades 1-8. They meet on Wednesday's at 6:00pm at 704 South Sycamore. It's purpose is to assist boys in developing their individuality and potential in the following ways:

  • Through group interaction with leaders and other boys.
  • By discovering the importance of Christian values and Biblical truths.
  • Through the development of physical, mental and social skills.
  • By providing a balanced environment for learning, developing and caring that is child-oriented and Christ centered.

Sunbeam (Girls, Grades 6-12)
This is a character building program that meets on Wednesday's at 6:00pm at 704 South Sycamore. The primary objective is to help every girl in her search for life's meaning and to lead her into a personal faith in Jesus Christ. The program is nondenominational and memberships is open to every girl in grades 1-5, regardless of race, creed or social standing.

Girl Guard ( Girls, Grades 6-12)
This program meets on Wednesday's at 6:00pm at 704 South Sycamore and focuses on helping girls learn about themselves and their expanding world. It guides them toward spiritual, mental, physical and social well-being, and helps them understand their potential as individuals. Any girl in grades 6-12, regardless of race, creed or social standing, may become a Girl Guard. They will learn the importance of Christian values and Biblical truths by experiencing God's Word and by the modeled example of their Christian leaders.

Women's Bible Study
This study group meets on Tuesday evenings at 7:00pm at 704 South Sycamore for a wonderful time of fellowship and growing in God's word.

Ladies Quilting
If you love the fellowship of other women and you love to quilt, or would love to learn, com to 704 South Sycamore on Saturday mornings at 10:00am

Sunday Church Services
We worship at 704 South Sycamore on Sunday mornings. Sunday school is at 9:30am and worship is at 10:45am. We welcome your visit and hope you'll want to join us again and again.

Bell Ringing
The bells ringing in front of many of the local stores each Christmas alert the public to the needs in our community. The money raised help fund our shelter, hot meals program, and social service work. The kettles are manned with volunteers that give of their time to make a difference in the community.

Thanksgiving Dinner
Thanksgiving is a special day when families and loved ones gather together and give thanks for the blessings in their lives. For some people, it's another holiday they cannot afford to celebrate. Volunteers prepare, serve and clean up a wonderful dinner for those in our community that might otherwise go without. Many hands make for light work on this special day.

Sally's Toy Shop
This wonderful toy shop is designed to bring toys to needy children. People in the community purchase the toys and bring them to us. Volunteers walk the parents through the toy shop and allow them to pick out gifts for their children. This is a very rewarding way to participate as a volunteer, or to provide toys for children to make their Christmas special.

Prison Toy Wrap
Each year we provide wrapped gifts in the mail to about 500 children whose parent is incarcerated. This is a very rewarding way to participate as a volunteer, or to provide toys for children to make their Christmas special.
